Thanks for the data. I have known that real wages have been on a steady decline since the early 70's. If the minimum wage is raised to 7 bucks an hour, all we would have done is to bring it in line with inflation to 1971 levels.

Looking at the graph, one can see how the poor were shafted and impaled during the Reagan days, during which they managed to quadruple the national debt. If they didn't have the poor to take some of the hit, maybe the debt would have gone up 5x or 6x...

You can't hire workers for under $7 in St. Louis. I guess that puts us above those levels without needing to raise the minimum-wage. Hmmm?
