I believe retail investors are losing more ground now than ever before. L2 is used to confuse and scare the daytrader out of his or her positions on a daily basis. SuperSOES will only add to this by allowing market makers to hide 10,000 shares behind a bid/ask of only 1000 shares without having to refresh. Now that the institutions are buying the ECN's, that will only confuse the daytrader even more, and virtually make L2 worthless. Worthless by allowing the institutions to hide behind the ECN's instead of their MM name. Instead of the house using only 1 deck of cards, they're adding more decks at an alarming rate to gain more of an advantage, something they've had and will have forever.
