Stephen, I do agree with you that our Medical Doctors should be making an informed decision about what would be the very best care and/or procedure for each patient. I don't like the idea that some adjuster at the HMO is the controlling authority. However, I would like it even less to have a government employee making that same decision. We need to trust our MD's to give and direct the proper, needed treatment. And, the MD needs to be fairly compensated for his knowledge, skills and willingness to sacrifice in order to become qualified. I don't know the answer but feel pretty confident the government would become part of the problem and not the solution. If they nationalized health care there would be the same operation number needed, the same although even more cumbersome prior approval needed. It might even come to the Medical community becoming employees of the government and work on salary.

I think we should pay MDs minimum wage so health care wouldn't be so expensive. They kill more people each year than handguns. Maybe there should be more MDs in prison.knc
