GMST--Gemstar-TV Guide to buy French electronic publisher NEW YORK, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. (NasdaqNM:GMST - news) said on Friday it would enter the electronic publishing business in France through the purchase of Les Editions 00h00 and its holding company, Assam S.A. Les Editions 00h00 carries a list of over 600 titles, and plans to become an online publisher in most European languages, and started a Portuguese language programme earlier this year. The acquisition is the latest step in Gemstar-TV Guide's plan to enter the electronic book business worldwide, Gemstar said. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed. Gemstar shares closed at $76-7/8 in trading Thursday on the Nasdaq stock market, down $3-1/4.
