Rocky,

I like the MMC USB adapter that you linked.

Now if only the box makers would put USB ports on the front of the boxes instead of in some cranny on the back side.

Rocky,

The Handspring adapter modules seem to be attractive after-market items. I still don't understand why Handspring didn't just follow the CF standard where several add-on modules have existed for some time.

Perhaps they wanted to insure a complete lack of compatibility with
Pocket PC devices which use the CF standard?

Casio is now offering the EM500 device which uses MMC expansion slots. Perhaps Handspring feels CompactFlash is an outdated standard and chose MMC for that reason?

Either way the Handspring expansion bay seems large enough to accomodate CF,
so it doesn't appear to be a real estate issue.
Perhaps the lack of multimedia functionality with the Palm OS is to blame.

Finally, I think Casio realized that the original Cassiopeia design
is just too bulky for most users. CF contributes to the bulk.
Casio seems to believe that MMC is the future.
I hope they are correct.

Best,

Aus
