IMO, there is always an anti incumbent feeling even in good times. I have noticed this trend all over the world and can give numerous examples. Ultimately such incumbents usually do well when the elections near. That's when people focus and compare.
How do you explain Bush lead in polls (75% in his favor over ANY primary opponent) when people could not have picked him up from a police lineup? That is because they just heard the brand name "BUSH" and did not know him. Looks like more he opens his mouth, more Clymers/blunders seem to be rolling off his tongue. IMO, if a coronation was that neccessary, Rep. party should have gone with the other Bush - Jeb Bush. I do expect this Bush to lose but Jeb might be a president one day.
