Mike

Thanks for your comments on the CC candidates (WY, GP, SFE, etc.). I am patiently waiting. Paper stocks sure are getting a swift kick. Is this energy related? Anticipating recession?

What "canary in the coalmine" stocks do you use for anticipating recession?

So, things have cooled down in Houston, only 90 degrees or so? -gg- It's in the 60s here in northeast Ohio. But I'll let you know when it goes sub-zero this winter so you can remind me why you still live in Texas. Or is it the Governer you have down there!

Mike:

At one time, you liked FMO, do you still like it, or did you punt it. It is now back down to 52 week low. Is it the heavy discount to book & decent cash flow that you like ? Also, doesnt the debt level seem high ? It would seem to me that GPC may be a better buy in this business ?
Which is also at a 52 week, 5 year low as well. Boy when they hate these businesses, they really hate them.

Do you view FAX as a decent hedge against the US dollar ?

I have been trying to buy puts for the last week, but they seem to only trade at the ask. Are you seeing a similar experience ? Sorry for the lot of questions

thanks

Michael--ALLR has preannounced 3rd Q results and it doesn't look good. I actually like situations like this and have done well with them. Is this the time to buy ALLR, or better to wait? Thanks.
