Bon has done this superbly so I think she deserves 10 bonnuss points. Bon does tend to rely heavily on emoticons when expressing herself in text, and that is certainly a serious character flaw for a wannabe curmudgeon. Consistently placing an emoticon behind the word goons is especially curious and maybe even hypocritical, and a hypocritical curmudgeon is something of an oxymoron, is it not? Bon does also seem to be a bit of a camp follower, following cuf from thread to thread, and incessantly talking about him when he is not there, but heck, this is an unmoderated thread, so that is hardly grounds for rejection. Bottom line is the capability to "take the heat". So far so good on that score for Bon. Maybe this is Bon's natural ""kitchen"? I just reexamined the mudge def: curmudgeon: anyone who hates hypocrisy and pretense and has the temerity to say so; anyone with the habit of pointing out unpleasant facts in an engaging and humorous manner. Key here, is that Bon's def of "engaging and humorous manner", might differ from some mudges. In which case the question might be: is Bon a mudge, or just another goon? - ce -
