How many waves in a Tsunami?

Wow...this fiber-thing will spread like a wave around the world...as it spreads, it loses some of its energy, but personally, I would not "go to the beach" anywhere in the world...

We are just at the cusp...a few years ago, if someone had mentioned the concept of a wireless connection for email, it would have been met with "who needs that?"

Those old enough to remember the cartoon Dick Tracy...he had a two way video phone on his wrist...even now, people will say "who needs that?"

That video phone is just around the corner, and it will be a video phone / computer / television / voice recognition - thing. and you will be able to watch your favorite movie, or search the congressional library archive, or do a stock deal, or order a pizza delivered or a new shirt...and there will be absolutley no temptation to go to the mall because the experience will be better and more appealing than the mall...

...and that is all driven by bandwidth...

In some deference to Moores law, we have a new paradigm here: "take moores law, and raise it to the the power of the number of computers in the world, times a scaling constant" that's the bandwidth needed for those computers to communicate...

...and every single appliance in the future will have a computer in it and will need to be connected to the web...

...now tell me it is reaching the peak...
