RE:"I was the one who pointed out that AMD manufactures chipsets so if there is a shortage of chipsets it brings up some interesting questions"

I think even the 750 AMD chipset is outsourced...
and I hear "allocation"...
AMD is also hurt by the chipsets it needs...
760
770
Even if DDR wouldn't be in significant volume, AMD needs the 133 MHz 760.
and even more so, an integrated chipset for Duron.

EP,

re:"remember those Q3 goals are for an anemic 3.6 Million and AMD has been claiming they can sell all the Athlons they can manufacture."

AMD said 1.8 Million Athlons and derivatives for Q2.
3.6 Million Athlons and derivatives for Q3.
7.2 Million Athlons and derivatives for Q4.

Looks like a good plan to me bringing a new FAB online and changing FAB25 to FLASH.

How does Intel's ramp of Coppermines compare?

Of course we can't compare....yields are great, ramp is fine.......[TM PB]
