Zeev, Thanks for your reply. Just wanted to clarify what I meant by nuclear winter. This is a term that Fleckenstein uses and someone by the name of Hickman, who writes a tech newsletter, talks about. Essentially the notion is that companies, in preparation for Y2K, substantially upgraded their equipment (as opposed to correcting their software and staying with old systems)and will not be making purchases in the future at the same pace. There is some truth to this hypothesis, I think, although even the proponents would have to admit that the term "nuclear winter" has proven to be an exaggeration.

I guess I place myself somewhat between yourself and Fleckenstein, who I read daily. Valuations are high and the future is in doubt. But, there is still a great deal of exuberance as to what that future holds, which supports current high valuations. If the turnips are right about next year, you and Fleck will be in parallel agreement.

Cheers!

Trindy might be referring to William A. Fleckenstein's comments where he keeps saying the PC and associated semis, etc. market is setting up for a fall. He calls that "nuclear winter" for the PC crowd.
