Michael: What an erudite post. Now that I've read more of your wisdom, I see the error of my ways. Thank you for setting me straight. By the way, do you agree with the major's gay-bashing? Where do you stand on that subject? Are you in his corner or are you more "liberal" on the subject like Neo?

Michael, First, I am a promotable major, who is not retiring, I am resigning. There is a big difference. Unlike flap's ranting and fantasizing, I will no longer draw a check from the government as of 1 October 2000. The rank I would be promoted to if I was going to stay in would be Lieutenant Colonel. The military has changed sufficiently at the upper levels that I am no longer able to support what they are doing and hold to my guiding principles. flap can't stand that people don't have to pay union dues and can still survive. An elitist, I in no way, shape or form, claim to be. I have been educated in a conservative manner and don't plan to change my way of thinking. I enjoy your posts.knc
