ORCL is the only thing I see draining. -g Good volume too. The moves on CSCO, MSFT, and INTC are obscene.

While it is true that options, much like futures, have the ability to enable the transfer of risk for a fixed price (insurance), the fact that options do trade continuously does allow them to serve a purely speculative function, as a very leveraged surrogate for the stock itself.
