Danny - there are indeed many factors to consider - (taxable/non taxable account, cost basis earnings objective). My situation maybe different from yours: I am sitting on several shares of 3 different equities with a very low cost basis in a taxable account - my objective is to hold the stock (not incurring the capital gains). I am determined to make these shares work for me in turbulent times. I agree DIM is very dangerous indeed if the stock turns - depends on the beta of the stocks - mine have low betas thus my approach. Just some random thoughts - good luck !
