Could they be closer to .01% than the 1% or 2% that they keep hinting at?

The CEO said that they were closer in magnitude to the 1% number than .1%. Since the industry DRAM numbers are public, it'll be easy enough to calculate what Rambus's royalties should be. If they start showing up at 1/100th of what would be expected, it'll be obvious. Tate would then have a shareholders lawsuit that would burn him forever.

Only stupid people lie about something that's so easy to check. He's not stupid.

Nice FUD try, though.

No, actually, I take that back. That wasn't even a half-way decent effort.

Dave

It would be interesting to know what actual royalty rates Rambus actually settles for. Why is Rambus so desperate to keep them secret? Could they be closer to .01% than the 1% or 2% that they keep hinting at?

dan,
they are not a secret at all and there is no need to guess.

i gave you the answer to that several times in the past.
the royalty structure was discussed in some detail by the ceo and cfo at the annual general meeting 2 years ago.

the lowest figure mentioned was 1.7% the highest was 5%.
i was there.
