Fly, Re: Refining capacity
I work in the refining industry and there is a problem
with this. Our refinery is at max through put and we have
been at max for some time ( 8 years plus ) now. Most of the
Refineries on the west coast have had problems, ie: Fires,
mechanical failure or having to shut down for routine maint.
the last two years. There is also an ongoing retrofit issue
to meet stronger ( nox ) air board standards that has
plagued all of the existing refineries. At our current
levels of through put we can barely keep up with demand and
thats if we run 365 days a year and never shut down.
Now in Europe they have a supply problem, most of the
stations are out of fuel completely and fuel is over 5.00/gl
Ouch!! FWIW
