No, just the result of a scan, converted to text without much editing. The top of the line HP scanner costs about 1/4 as much as it did a few years ago and has 4 times the hardware resolution. Also, it has both SCSI and USB ports vice the special cable and 8 bit interface card that the old ones required. The S/W provided with the scanner does a better job of OCR than the $500 S/W needed in the past, but does not do any formatting of the text.

In fact, I can not get the high priced S/W to work at all, may be due to the fact that I have Windows ME on that machine. Looking for more to scan ....
