Probably would get him drummed out of the party.
Two sentences in a row that parse? Unseemly!
It still strikes me as bizarre ingratitude how quickly and callously Congressional Repubs booted Gingrich. I disagreed with the man more than not, but I would always take time to listen when he talked policy, because he would think about what he had to say and could speak in paragraphs. I'd ignore the partisan twin. What is it about today's political climate that makes it impossible for politicians to speak civilly and debate policy, not sound-bites. Someone once told me that another thing that the country lost when JFK was assassinated was the great debate that never was. Would politics today be the same if it had had the example of a Goldwater v. Kennedy campaign to look back to?
