Hi,
You wrote:I do not think that a name company like AMEX is any more devious than the rest of the brokerages
I have to disagree with you. Granted a significant period of time has passed from your post to this one. AMEX has also started charging on trades over 10 a month. But get this from AMEX's "Main Page" of their website.
*Ten free online trades per month with account balance of $100,000. Three free online buys per month with account balance of $25,000 or more (sells are just $19.95). All limit stop orders at lower asset levels cost $19.95. I just got off the phone with AMEX this morning. I trade, but not 10 a month. IMO AMEX owes me for the commissions I was charged for limit orders I placed. The customer service rep that I talked to told me that was not what they meant. When I pointed out to her what they said, she said that she agreed.
I'd like like to hear from anyone else in the same situation ($100,000 or more in assets, and being charged for limit orders with AMEX). i think we have a case here.
