<If communism is the absolute evil, then socialism(to any degree) is simply a lesser degree of that evil.>

Not necessarily. Why do you say that? I would not generalize here, Richard, as many right wing ideologues do in this country. A Government can support some Socialized Initiatives for the sake of the Public Good and still support Private Enterprise.

I believe Conservatives are wrong in trying to to turn Government solely into an agent of the Private Sector. Government represents a check on the Goal of Private Enterprise too, especially when that goal interferes with what is Beneficial for Society as a whole.

There is plenty of waste and inefficiency on the Private Sector Level too.

I'm a Moderate and not an economic ideologue. I believe that Government should support private sector opportunity as well as fund public programs that support the vast majority of its citizens.

communism WAS "Evil" but the world capitalism at least had some opposition to face. Capitalism is transforming itself into bigger even "Evil" since is repeating the sins of communism - mean no real opposition, political correctness, dollar without independent control instrument ,etc.

Richard, you need to come to NY to ride in one of our Internet Taxi Cabs:

Yahoo! Cabs To Hit New York

Starting Monday New York City will be home of 10 Internet taxi cabs. The popular web portal Yahoo! has teamed up with Palm Inc., Medallion Financial Corp., which owns taxi-top advertising rights, and Team Systems Corp., one of the largest taxi fleets in the city, to bring Yahoo! branded taxi cabs to New York City. The cabs will be outfitted with a Palm VII organizer that allow riders to access information on the Internet.
There's no extra charge to ride in these taxi cabs and you can download as much information as you'd like. So if you have a long ride across town you can check your e-mail, book a flight, check the weather, or look up a stock quote. This can be very convenient for people on the go.

This is not the first endeavor like this for Yahoo!. Many might remember a similar effort in San Francisco where the Yahoo! cabs came with a Windows CE device for Internet access. Although the program was believed to be a success Yahoo! scrapped the project. This time, they'll give it a shot in New York and run the cabs for six months.

Although there aren't many of these The Yahoo! cabs you won't have a problem spotting them on the street. The purple interior and Yahoo! branded exterior is sure to make these cabs stick out in a crowd.

So, the next time you're in New York City and want to try something new, hail down a Yahoo! cab and send us an e-mail with your thoughts on the Internet taxi.
