Robert, Re: Some more one your hero DOCTORS
oregonlive.com

"We were looking to hit a home run," said Dr. Brahm Goldstein, an Oregon Health Sciences University professor and the director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Doernbecher Children's Hospital. "But we hit a double."

Which game was he playing? He was principal investor and was responsible for a proper execution of the study. He was responsible for the study outcome. And since he pretends to know about the benefit of BPI he should take responsibility if the drug can not be given scientifically justified to all children with meningococcemia ... What he now does is just bad PR. Guilty? Maybe just bad taste and trying to twist a failure for a personal benefit ...

...show that the protein-packed drug produced lower death rates...

Just cynical? Or promoting in the local press his success as a co-author in THE LANCET combined with blunt ambition, if not else, for personal benefit ...?

Still, researchers haven't given up the fight.

How pathetic.

"While the drug didn't meet FDA standards, it clearly had an effect," said Goldstein...

Does this man really believe that FDA requests something other than a sound scientific standard known to the scientific community in general? If he does so he should make this public - if he dares.

...group are testing another protein drug aimed at cutting down on limb loss and organ damage caused by the disease.

Protein C? Embarrassing how these people can move on. No sign of contemplation on possible failure. No questioning of possible incompetence of their own, given no contrition at all.

Regards,
Manfred

Rk, they could try, plenty of other companies are approved, or in the way of approval, it is not a sound based piece of information to invest in a stock. If you think so, let it be.
