CVF 6.5 now incorporates, among other things, optimizations for the Athlon and K6 processors. According to the article, these optimizations are responsible for a 15% performance boost in SPECfp2000 compared to the previous 6.1 compiler. Available for most versions of Windows (including Alpha/NT through December of this year), the compiler can be executed from the command line or as a plugin to Microsoft Visual Studio.
