So you foresee a situaton where your govt. can become as tyrannical as Nazis? Even if it were to become as tyrannical, do you think it will take too long for militias to spring up and common people to arm themselves? This is not the time to be a gun slinging hero. If and when time comes, then people can take up to arms. Not in peace time. The institutions in this country seem very solid to me and all it requires is greater voter participation and good oversight to ensure that integrity.
