Richard, How about that "low latency" DRDRAM? The Windows Media Encoder test puts the top three competitors within reach of each other but there's a huge performance drop at the end of the chart for the Pentium III on the i820 platform. There's no real explanation here except for maybe RDRAM's latency issues on the i820 platform are holding it back in this case. anandtech.com The Premier benchmark is definitely favoring the Pentium III platform here, however the i820/RDRAM platform is lagging behind significantly. anandtech.com Scumbria
