CK,

<< It boils down to screen size. >>

I'm with ya. Screen size & resolution.

<< As the baby boomer generation ages, they will have a hard time looking at tiny screens on cell phones >>

Guaranteed. Being a couple years ahead of the boomers, I can attest to that. I moved even quicker than you from Palm III to Palm Vx. Part of the reason was memory , but the other was the slightly better resolution that makes it easier to read in varied light conditions.

The IIIc came out within a month of my buying the Vx. I don't need the color, but the color display has better contrast than the Vx grayscale.

As for a separate mobile phone and PDA, I will probably stay that course for some time. The Micky Mouse MMI of a mobile handset happens to be well suited to voice telephony. I prefer some size & heft to a phone as well. Again an age thing (deterioration of gray matter). If my mobile was StarTac size, I'd misplace it 5 times a day.

As for WAP on a handset ...

I HATE WAP!

"Docs To Go", "AvantGo!", & the "ProxiWeb" browser, along with an ACT! link are my 4 indispensable add on Palm applications.
