All, There may be a pop(up or down depending on how it is presented) coming in the gold mining investments. On one of the NBC Olympics channels there will be a segment on Gold Mining down-under tomorrow night..

Mike, I agree, and most who understand the in(s) and out(s) of what it would take to prevent China from replacing the Taiwan government and military leaders with their own so that all reside under a single ruling structure of origin Peking, would in my opinion also agree. But I fear that most USA citizens have not the facts needed to determine what action is correct, and this fact may be a mute point since the situation already exist that reflects an already decision "to go to war". That the USA has its military planted firmly on the soil of South Korea is well knowed, as the history of how the USA got there throught fighting a war there. Now ask the American public what type of presents their USA military has in Taiwan, and you in my opinion will get a blank stare. Those like i remember being processed through Taipel on the way to Vietnam, plus that was my R&R week vacation from my 13 month tour. But unlike the USA presents in Korea, what it is in Taiwan is not clear, in my opinion, and i ask anyone here to spell it out in a manner that we know that in Korea the USA troops are stationed battle ready across the DMZ which means any North Korean troop movement over land has to fight USA troops. The ability of the North Korean military to occupy the south is not held in its airforce or navy, but huge numbers of ground troops over land, and as just mentioned, through the DMZ. China has no land connection to Taiwan, but has an airforce and navy capable to "soften" any Taiwan beach or landing plane strip so that its ground troops can enter, meaning to me that China can attack Taiwan and then move in ground troops without "going through" American troops. Whereas the USA "let" Japanese attack Pearl Harbor and set up a phony attack by a North Vietnam navy boat onto an American "war" ship, both to create a reason to enter the war, this Taiwan if attacked by China with no shots fired at American troops on air land or sea could represent an opportunity for all USA military personnal to leave Taiwan and not protect it. This would be just the opposite of doing something untruthful to get in as stated above, it will be not to get in for this case, and a reason given is that the troops are needed to defend Kuwait and Saudi Arabia from Iraq. doug strongly oppose spilling US blood over Taiwan.
