I was in CA last week and when I filled up my rental car, I paid $2.10 for regular... ouch. BTW on the wax front - not every paint needs or benefits from wax. My Lotus uses a 2 part air-catalyzed paint which is similar to the paints used on the nose of commercial jets. It has a shine like glass and is VERY hard. Lotus specifically says "Do Not WAX this Paint" and I have never done so. The car is now 15 years old, and the paint still shines like glass...

The good thing about being in California is you're already there. --- The gas companies have all been gouging SF and Marin counties so much over the past few years, we don't notice a change. Gas is $2 now. It was $2 last year, and $2 before that. They must have run a focus group that said $3 would cause problems. --- Say JDN, I've followed this 'wax' thing and read your mention of tinker toys. Tell me if this ever happened to you as a kid: You have a new friend over to your house, you pull out your tinker toys (carefully) and show how you've emaculately hand waxed each wooden piece with layer upon layer of carnuba wax. Then, right as you begin to show him how you got into each little hole with a Q-tip, he stands up and slowly backs himself toward the door. --- More than once? <g> -JCJ
