OT..Fuel Cells...hmaly, I didn't look at a formal system for classifying fuel cells using on-board methanol or gasoline reformers as part-of or separate-from the hydrogen economy...they are primarily a near-term step to achieving the ultimate vision of hydrogen fuel cells, which aren't that far from production. Hybrid-electrics are the first step and they are out there now. I think many will be surprised at the pace hybrids incorporating fuel cells are introduced from here forward. Toyota, Honda, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler, and GM will have meaningful numbers of these vehicles on the road by 2003...I don't see any roadblocks to fuel cell technology at this point...the main barrier attacked these last 5 years was cost of volume manufacturing, and those barriers have been identified and attacked with good results.

A not-so-off-topic consideration is the pace at which chip-based technologies impact the fuel cell paradigm, which is why I really why I responded to your post in the first place. I hope AMD is tracking the technology development in this area as an opportunity to add high-margin products to their portfolio of products...Best wishes...jbk
