Sylvester

I see you have encountered Scumbria. We thought we were rid of him but he is back.

Your assessment of the DDR situation is nuts on. No self respecting OEM is going to sell any of this stuff until they can see a substantial economic argument. A few weeks ago VIA passed the DDR torch to the second and third tier vendors hoping they would make some of these systems. I have never heard of a major product launch being spearheaded by the second and third tier vendors. It is you go first and if you make any money with this stuff we will pile on. <LOL>

This is the biggest story of the last few years and the Register and the other rags have not picked up on it.
This is a major fiasco that exceeds Caminogate by an order of magnitude. The AMDroids and the Micron eunuchs will keep peddling this story until next month when the P4 launches. Then they will turn their attention to attacking the P4 benchmarks. Behind the scenes they are scrambling for something else.

I see you have met Scumbria, one of the the attack (Rambus) dogs. I'm sure you will soon have the pleasure of meeting some of the others... Bilow, Schuh, etc. It looks like many will be following the posts intently and enjoying them more.

Sylvester,<..this does not explain how it is possible a 50% faster FSB system with same clock CPU to be getting it's *** kicked in some and being very close in others, from a 50% slower FSB and memory system.>

Dear Sylvester, you are shouting out your deep
ignorance on the subject. The effect is well understood,
and was discussed here and there many times. The
problem is that most benchmarks are limited by the
overall system latency (memory + FSB + ..), and not
by some marketing bandwidth you are so addicted to.
The "200MHz" Athlon bus is not 50% "faster" than
P-III bus. In terms of system latency it is slower
than P-III 133FSB, and that is where your confusion
comes from.

<You sound like you own Micron or AMD stock? Maybe that is why you sound so worried and upset. So sorry...>
And you sound like you bought RMBS at $135.. That's
where your sorry is.

P.S. If you didn't get what I said about latency and
bandwidth, feel free to request additional explanation
from me.
