ChinaMallUSA.com subpoenaed by U.S. SEC

WASHINGTON, Jan 3 (Reuters) - ChinaMallUSA.com Inc. <CHML.PK>, a U.S. development stage company that performs technology projects in China, has been subpoeaned by U.S. securities regulators for documents and testimony related to the trading of Internet securities.

The New York City-based company disclosed the investigation on Tuesday in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

It said the SEC sought "documents and testimony pursuant to an investigation related to the trading of internet securities," including those of the company.

There were no further details in the filing, such as when ChinaMallUSA received the subpoena.

Company spokesman David Xie declined to comment.

ChinaMallUSA shares were down 2 cents to 5 cents on the Pink Sheets.

According to a recent press release, ChinaMallUSA said it recognized its first significant operating revenue in the second and third quarters of 2000.

It posted revenues of $181,144 in the second quarter ended June 30 and $128,013 in the third quarter ended Sept. 30.

The revenues came from an Internet consulting deal with Hubei Tianfa Group Corp., a "major petroleum products company in China," the release said.
