I whole heartedly agree re: middle-class conceits. What I find even more amusing is that the margin that separates the two groups is often razor thin. Maybe $50,000 a year in some cases.

One prolonged illness without the right insurance coverage and a few instances of "bad luck" to boot and suddenly your right down there with the "prolies."

More than a few white collar workers began to understand this part of the definition during the "downsizing/righsizing" period of the 1980s early 90s:

2: the laboring class; especially : the class of industrial workers who lack their own means of production and hence sell their labor to live.

And they'll learn it all over again in next period of TL...coming soon to a market near you.

I've been listening to CNBC for over an hour it seems...no mention of the debacle in the Asian markets though...that would be unbullish.
