I have been trying to figure out why infospace with all its affiliates (3000+) and all its other businesses doesn't make more money...I had read somewhere that Naveen gave away his services cheap to get his name out there.....well looking over this joint proxy statement I found out that in the case of AOL, it actually paid to be on their site .... back in 1998 infospace granted AOL about 8 millions warrants at exercise price of $1.50 over 4 years for a deal regarding infospaces white pages.....that seems pretty rich to me although back at that time it might not have seemed that way.........most of the other deals, I believe, are structured as some form of revenue sharing but no details to the split can be found anywhere.....it would seem that these must highly favor the carrier as otherwise infospace would have more revenues......
