The problem is the guy looking like a snob, a bully...and disingenuous bore... If Bush looks cool and human...he can come out the winner. I believe Bush originally responded to Gores, "anytime, anywhere" challenge. At any rate, it seems they have agreed on 3 debates. For me, Gore is easy to attack, unfortunately his campaign managers have been missing the boat.
