No, but spending money allocated for schools & teaches & dedicating the pockets of those in charge is evil - Can we say FRAUD? Spending money designed for prevention & fighting of forest fires on buying more land(some of it farm land stolen at bargin basement prices to also not tended is a great sin!

Not all spending is "evil," outside the MilIitary.

Kind of putting the cart before the horse, aren't ya Rarebird?

Without a military capable of preserving our economic and political interests (hopefully the fulfillment of free markets and democracy), there would be little money to spend for anything...

Unfortunately, current civilization is only a facade of oft ignored treaties and agreements which barely obscure the law of the jungle by which we all live at our most instinctive level.

Can you imagine Saddam Hussein having the guts to take on the US again (as he is now), were he faced with insurmountable strength?

The way to kill an elephant is to attack it from all angles at once until it finally tires... some fear that is eventually what is in store for the US.

Btw, a strong and professional military is the best guarantor of peace there is....

And soldiers are the LAST INDIVIDUALS to desire war. They are the ones who have to fight them.

Pray for peace, but prepare for war.

Regards,

Ron
