First, all of us "old" timers have heard all the language in regards to the value of UMC. This has been going on since late 1997. Go back and check all the posts in regards to the "worth" of this investment. Comments such as "the third quarter will see huge gains", or "wait until the end of the first quarter" echo in my head. We have heard about the great "Diamond" acquisition and how the RIOPORT IPO will bring us all (pun intended) "diamonds" for Christmas. We have heard all about "book value" and how great a value it would be to purchase shares at or below this "book value" number, what ever it is at a given time. We have read how Hank Greenberg just loves to lay into this stock (man was he ever right) and now we are hearing how great a potential it is from the likes of Chip Carlson. Dan Scovel has given his blessing to S3 over and over again. Where the hell is he now? We have heard how Pots will be our savior and what a great move it was to get rid of Walt Amaral (he "resigned" to pursue "other" interests). How about those up-grades.....make that down-grades from all those great investment houses? How about the partnership with Dell, Nike, Dolby, Hollywood Records, etc.? The Via deal?.....(big deal)....... I would love to go on. I never thought I would become a basher but ENOUGH! FWIW, I have NO confidence in S3 or Pots. Every time things begin to look good........WHAM! More excuses and more promises of better financial performance. As far as I am concerned (and this is not an original idea) S3 would be better off selling ALL of it's components and assets and give everyone their fair share of what they get for it. Yes, that's right, sell off the company. We would all be better off and would not have to listen to any more bullshit from the idiots that are running (ruining) this company. Calvin Scott I guess I will go back to the joke page……although this (S3) is pretty funny………..HA HA (sob)
