Well, we can go back and forth on this forever, so this will be my last post on the subject (we could always start a new board on the subject).

The point I am making, and which hasn't been addressed, is:

"Why shouldn't we just trust the jury to make the proper decision regarding damages?"

After all, we allow juries to decide whether convicted criminals should live or die. If we can trust a jury with that decision, why shouldn't we trust them to make an appropriate award of damages?
