If I were to write a movie about this, I'd start with the murder-- showing the audience exactly who was responsible. Then I'd focus on the police investigation and how it touched the lives of both the innocent person they named as the prime suspect and the family they repeatedly misled... making both a living hell. I think people will be just astounded at how things went down. In fact, I'd venture to say if the story were written as fiction the critics would pan it for being totally implausible. However, until a final chapter is written (i.e. the real killer(s) is(are) arrested), there's not much to do but grin and bear it. :(
