John, if you like telcos, Brandes (brothers) just moved a ton into PT (Portugual Telecom). haven't had time to look. moved in bw $10 and $10 1/4, about the same spot it's at now. they went big into Asia when everyone was dumping it; timed the bottom dang good Brandes are well known International value players with closed Intl. fund. they follow the Ben Graham investing philosophy. Dell is clearly at the "value" stage. those box "give away" items are not out of desparation. they're attempting to capture more share. so...they say they're doing it. you may not like the method (appears the market has taken a back seat approach to it), but Dell marketing sits in a more advantageous position than most ass sitters on the street...including me
