I remember the media's treatment of the story the next day, met with nothing but giggles, i.e. "Aw shucks, that Alex Baldwin--what a funny guy!" No one said, "sheesh, that Alex Baldwin--what a nutcase, he's really 'lost' it." I immediately wondered how they'd treat the converse...imagine the uproar if, say, Charlton Heston went on a talk show and suggested that Barney Frank or Maxine Waters should meet an untimely death for their views on gun control.
