Concur Helps Timken Put Employees and
Managers in Charge With Successful
Deployment of Concur Human Resources

Leading International Manufacturer of Bearings and Steel Supports 5,000
Employees, Improves Service, and Cuts Costs With Human Resources
Self-Service Solutions

REDMOND, Wash., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Concur Technologies (Nasdaq: CNQR - news),
the leading provider of Corporate Expense Management solutions, announced today that The
Timken Company (NYSE: TKR - news), a $2.5 billion international manufacturer of highly
engineered bearings and alloy steel, has successfully deployed Concur Human Resources(TM)
Manager Self-Service (MSS) applications to 450 managers within the company. This
deployment builds on the successful rollout of Concur Human Resources Employee Self-Service
(ESS) applications to more than 4,500 Timken employees last year. Concur Human Resources
has increased employee productivity, while significantly reducing operating costs and extending
the life of Timken's aging back-office systems.

``Since we deployed Concur's Employee Self-Service solutions last year, we have been able to
streamline administrative HR tasks, thereby increasing employee productivity and enhancing
internal business process efficiencies,'' said Mario Cancelliere of Timken's Corporate Shared
Services organization. ``With the recent deployment of Concur's Manager Self-Service solutions,
we have seen a dramatic improvement in manager productivity. In the past, managers had to file
paperwork and wait for days, and in some cases weeks, for routine processes including salary
adjustments, promotions, and separations. Concur's user-friendly, customizable Web-based
applications allow our managers to complete basic human resources transactions in a matter of
minutes. Utilizing the workflow capabilities of the system has improved communication between
departments and allowed us to reduce the time it takes to process transactions. Moreover,
Concur has also extended the life of our legacy HR back-office system, potentially saving us
millions of dollars in upgrade costs.''

``Concur is uniquely focused on quick deployment and rapid return on investment,'' said Steve
Singh, chairman and chief executive officer for Concur. ``Timken has achieved great results in a
very short time, making employees more productive and improving its bottom line results.
Concur's deployment of multiple applications to Timken demonstrates how we are delivering on
the promise of human resources self-service solutions today. Concur has also created value for
Timken by allowing them to integrate our services with their diverse back-office systems.''

Timken's Corporate Shared Services unit is planning to deploy Concur's Benefits Enrollment
solution to employees next month. This application provides employees with a customized
presentation of their benefits options based on employer-established eligibility rules, available
benefit plans, and benefit providers. The application also supports open enrollment and updates
to plans throughout the year to automate employee and payroll information, and benefits
enrollment.
