Re: The complaint says within 20 days from being served the summons. If the papers were served on Aug. 28th and allowing for Labor Day the 20th day would be Monday, Sept. 25th. If the papers were served Aug 29th, then they would have to file by Tues, Sept. 26th. That's my understanding.

In a case this complex, Rambus will easily get a reasonable extension if it wants to. It can either move to dismiss the count(s) or answer each, paragraph by paragraph and make dispositive motions later. This is a multifaceted, complicated case to build, so they will likely move slowly. They had best be very careful: you can't make mistakes, e.g. fail to include an argument at the right point, the time it's due, or it could be waived, and they will be very careful to get every fact they need into the record for the inevitable appeal. Things may appear to be going slowly - but there will be plenty of activity behind the scenes.

So don't take it to be particularly significant, either way, if you don't get your answer on the 26th.
