Michael: I really don't like to hammer on you all the time, but you post more dumb crap than anyone on this board. Now you write, "Single women want government to take the place of men in their lives ..." And then you go on to say, "Single women must be the easiest duped group of people in America." (And I thought that I proved to everyone's satisfaction late last week that women were smarter than men.)

It's funny that you mention single women, because the defining moment in the entire presidential campaign, at least for me, came early, in February. I believe GWB was addressing a town meeting in New Hampshire and C-Span (God bless 'em) was covering it. The first person to ask a question of Bush was a handicapped woman, in a wheelchair. Her question was: "Governor Bush, what do you intend do for people like me ... special needs people ... if elected? What programs will you offer to the handicapped?" Without even pausing to reflect on his reply (as President Clinton does), GWB said, "Well, the first thing we're going to do is cut your taxes!" Then he laughed like Goofy, the Disney character. The camera panned back to the woman and the smile on her face turned into deep disappointment at Dubya's answer. Bottom line: We're not going to do a damn thing to improve your life other than cut your taxes. I think at that point I first realized what a loser GWB is, and how shallow the GOP platform is.

Here's a novel thought, Michael: Perhaps Gore appeals to the women of this country because of his message.
