Scumbria,

In England, they use roundabouts instead of traffic lights. These are very efficient until they become saturated, at which time traffic lights become necessary.

Which is why some roundabouts also have "part-time" traffic lights.

They use these in the outer-Boston area too.

That in and of itself is NOT a good recommendation.
