Ken, I know that you are involved in real estate development. What do you think of the so-called "McFadden Hypothesis"? Based on a variety of demographic data, and on the (long-term) downtrend of commodities prices, the hypothesis predicts a massive deflation in real housing prices over the next 100 years. Of course, this doesn't mean that there can't be regional price increases or short periods of housing inflation. It just suggests that the long-term trend is downward. Certainly this would require a change in consumer psychology that obviously has not yet occurred.

BTW, I appreciated your comments on the decline of individual liberty this last weekend. I recently finished an excellent book that detailed many of the abuses that you mentioned: _Freedom in Chains_, by James Bovard.
