Ouch for Yahoo!! Hmmm, what have I been telling you guys about these advertisers? See 'em dropping? YHOO might go below 100 yet. I'm not exactly sure why AMZN really feels they need to advertise with either company any more. They have pretty much become a household name by now haven't they? Maybe it comes down to this...

People on AOL are willing to pay for the internet and the services on the net, as evidenced by their AOL bill every month. Yahoo on the other hand is reachable from anywhere, by anyone, on any service regardless of whether they are using free internet access, or whatever. I paid for AOL until I knew better. i found out that I could get cheaper, faster access....and I was gone. See ya, don't call me, I'll call you. Then, I set up 2 free access accounts to have as backups in case my RCN failed me, which it did...over and over again. So, then, I dumped RCN and just used the free services for a while. They were just as good as RCN and better than AOL ever was, except they had that ad screen, which is no big deal. AOL had pop-ups all over the place. That was enough to drive a guy crazy. Now, I am back to paying for access, but it is cable, and it is worth it, since I trade. I don't have to use my credit card to pay for the service either. I guess folks can use a check to pay for AOL, but AOL doesn't like it that way. But bottom line is...I don't pay for things on the internet except for my trading commissions. Pehaps that is the mentality that Amazon is trying to avoid. Perhaps they are leaning towards preying on those AOL users that are willing to pay high prices for crappy services. If they will pay AOL $21.95 a month, surely they will spring for 15 bucks for a CD and shipping right? Hey...just put it on the same credit card you use to pay for your AOL service. Yes, it seems like a smart move for AMZN to prey on those 21 million AOL dummies.

That's just my opinion.
