Love it, Mike! Great find! My take on Barron's irresponsible bit of yellow journalism? Simple: knowing that a stock with a spinoff ahead will often dip before it runs up, some stingy editor at Barron's thought to drive the price lower, to buy and gain more. On a more cautionary note, however, I should add that, despite my high regard for MRVC, after DD'ing Luminent, I can perceive that the spinoff does carry a few negatives. It should do reasonably well, nonetheless. Zaffire is a real gem, and MRVC's other holdings sound awfully strong, however. I may have to wait a little for MRVC to crater as a result of Barron Von Springer, but I have no doubt where it ultimately belongs.... in my piggy bank!
