Barb -

Good post.

[...If less than 5 million votes determines the presidential election in November, I'll eat my keyboard. ...]

It might well take less than 5 million votes total to flip just enough states in the electoral college in hindsight, but that's no excuse. If your state is not a toss-up state within a couple of percent at the time of the election, there is no reason at all to not vote Libertarian.

I disagree with you about Gore being equally (non)acceptable, but mostly in the sense that any further directional progress in the utter corruption of all of the executive (and judicial) branch(es) may reach the point of no return.

Regards, Don

A further comment on the subject. I believe that one of the reason's that Libertarian candidates fare so poorly is because folks compromise their principles when going into the voting booth, and casting for the 'lesser of two evils', because they fear the 'greater evil' may win otherwise.

And I'm guilty of doing just that. I've mostly voted Republican but, in the case of State elections, I've always voted for who could do the least amount of damage.

Case in point, I voted for Ann Richards as Democratic Governor for Texas while voting for George Bush for President.

Casting for the Libertarian will make a difference to the future, IMHO. If less than 5 million votes determines the presidential election in November, I'll eat my keyboard.

Did it taste good?
