It's all based on RDRAM price. And RDRAM price continues to come down in price. 60% down in 8 months. I also suggest you look at the recent slides presented by Samsung, NEC and Toshiba that look forward into 2001 with 256Mb dies, high yields and other cost cutting measures that will continue to decrease RDRAM cost. As RDRAM continues to decline in price, that can only mean bad news to SDRAM. Having better granularity especially with the 256Mb parts for value PCs, will prove to be icing on the cake.
