Intel Introduces Innovative E-business Data Center Appliances
New Intel® NetStructure(TM) Hosting, Storefront and Management Solutions Target e-Commerce Growth and Service Provider Outsourcing
HILLSBORO, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2000-- Intel Corporation today introduced three new categories of e-Business data center appliances that support e-Commerce growth and the trend of outsourcing a company's IT services. The new products include specialized equipment designed to host Web sites, complete online transactions and manage the increasing number of space saving ``rack'' appliances and server gear found within e-Businesses and located at service providers' data centers.

The hosting, storefront and management products are part of the growing Intel® NetStructure(TM) family. The Intel NetStructure line includes highly reliable and scalable network equipment, Internet appliances and professional services that deliver intelligence to e-Business networks. They have been developed to help e-Businesses provide faster and more reliable e-Commerce and Web site experiences without disrupting their existing infrastructure.

Analysts predict that e-Commerce transactions will grow into the trillions worldwide within the next three years. This growth has sparked a new breed of service provider focused on e-Business data center hosting and application services.

The new Intel products are targeted toward meeting the needs of these service providers by offering rapid deployment of servers and other equipment with higher performance, reliability and manageability.

``The Intel® NetStructure(TM) family of products provide innovative solutions to real problems experienced by Internet users and service providers,'' said John Miner, vice president and general manager of Intel's Communications Products Group. ``These new Intel NetStructure appliance products enable faster time-to-market and lower deployment costs, which translate into better return on investment for our customers. They complement our networking products, which enable a faster and more reliable Web experience.''
