Rare Bird i have a few questions. This is my first bubble so any and all help is appreciated by me. The janitors went on strike in LA and won. Now the bus drivers are doing so. Their strike impacts those in the very low income bracket many around 15 thousand and that is peanuts in LA. Gas has risen and this strike combined with drivers will increase fares at some point. So you have inflationary forces and anti inflationary measures all at once. My question becomes at what theoretical point do the working poor find working is not worth it and social services have to be used. Due to welfare reform can they, will they? I keep thinking about he price in property here and its impossible for landlords in lower income areas to raise rents and the cost of maintaining that property is high now due to limited labor available. The pressure on some employees is huge because unions dictate coverage in medical etc and cost dictates reduce employees more overtime but less fixed expense. Soft landing, my foot, this equals higher poverty and greater division in this land of the free, or more inflation?
